"Earlier this year I needed to get my 95-year-old mother some help with her personal care after a fall and lengthy hospital stay. I was very apprehensive about getting the right people for the job. After meeting with Zenovia and her team at Village Rose, I was impressed with their care and compassion. My mom loves not only the assistance with her care, but the companionship they provide when I can't be there. I can now rest easy knowing I have a team of people to count on to assist me with her care."

"We became involved with ‘Village Rose Home Healthcare’ (formerly ‘Take My Hand Home Care’) when my husband required added assistance to supplement his existing care.
Zen and staff have fulfilled that essential requirement. With appreciation and gratitude we applaud Village Rose.
Their friendly attitude and efficient and compassionate care are invaluable.
Thank you and God bless.

"My wife, Annette, requires home care. (Paid for by CPAS’ Direct Client Funding). Two years ago we found N., the ideal caregiver; we worked together to provide Annette’s care. Then, my heart attack in August of this year made my participation impossible. Luckily, we found Village Rose to extend a helping hand. (N. cannot do it alone). Overnight, Zen, the owner/manager, put together a team that interfaces with N. and our program with incredible competence, flexibility and creativity. They are already an integral part of our caregiving family, and at a very low cost.

“Village Rose Home Healthcare has been a positive life changing process for my Mom. As a result of their ongoing care, my mother has blossomed as a person. The quality of her entire life has not been this good in years. Zen and her staff are caring, empathetic, and hard working. They more than meet all of my mother’s complex needs. I would recommend this company to anyone.”

"Having Zen & her Village Rose staff helping at our house Is amazing – With my medical issues, I was not able to keep up at all.
But now, housework is no longer “mission impossible”.  As well, I am able to have the Village Rose staff do other projects in the home that I need help with.
Zen is making great choices in the staff she is hiring. They are all very cooperative & pleasant.  My husband and I wish every success to the Village Rose Home Healthcare company. We continue to use it's services regularly"

“I was advised by many friends, and by staff in my retirement complex, that I should get some extra help. I found that I was experiencing dizzy spells, and basically feeling unsafe, whenever I went shopping or out to run errands. I came across Zen’s flyer and called her for help. From the first time that we got together- well- that was when the laughter began. Whenever we go out we have fun and laugh at everything and at nothing at all. All the while, I safely get my errands done, while Zen keeps her eagle eye on me. As it has turned out, we are a perfect match, and I consider Zen not only my care aid but a dear friend.”

Village Rose Healthcare would like to thank

Dr. Monte Floyd for the contribution of the following honorary poem

—THE VILLAGE ROSE—

The old woman felt cold; She felt trapped in her own Home, alone—

“An old shoe,” she thought, “That fits no foot And has no mate.”

Lost, it seemed, in a world With heart of stone; Chilled to the core, She shivered, losing hold On reality as she slipped into A comforting dream...

And then, when all seemed hopeless, when despair began to fill her aging soul—

A village rose to help— They came with food, they Came with clothes, with books To read, and logs to fill The ancient fireplace and Her longtime home with Warmth and light.

But best of all, They brought something magic And too long missing from her Life,

too long gone—

'Take my hand” Said one caring voice— And then another, another, And another...together, They lifted her spirits and Filled her with hope.

The village rose, and Brought her love.

                           LESKO, William “Bill”
               June 19, 1932 – December 9, 2020

William “Bill” passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2020 in the presence of
his loving and supportive wife, Elizabeth (Liz). Mom and Dad were married for 63 years
and were blessed with five children: Clifford (Sandra), Connie Banadyga (Duane), Karen
Klein (Jerry), Gail Gillies (Gord), and Rick (Carol). Also left to cherish Dad’s memory
are 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. As well, Dad is mourned by his sister
Evette Smith, and his sister-in-law Anne Lesko. Dad was predeceased by his parents John
and Mary, his brother Jacob, and his sister Rose and her husband Jack Litman. Dad was
born and resided in Vonda, SK until completing his secondary schooling. After he
married Mom, there were a few towns and cities which were considered home; however,
Saskatoon would eventually be the place where they settled. Dad built his career in the
sales industry, and was well respected by his peers and clients. It is in this area that Dad
spent the better part of his career employed by Kellogg Salada. Outside of his work,
home, family, and faith were of paramount importance to Dad. As a family, we are
indebted to both SHA Direct Client Funding Program and Village Rose Home Health
Care for their unceasing efforts with regards to Dad’s well-being. With the greatest of
respect and dignity, Dad received excellent care and compassion - for this, we are forever
grateful. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Funeral Mass will be celebrated on December
12, 2020 at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church by immediate family only. Memorial
donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Chalice (www.chalice.ca), or a charity of
your choice. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel - Mourning Glory Funeral Services
(306) 978-5200. Condolences may be left at www.mourningglory.ca

Special recognition to our first client, Mr. William Lesko, our sincere condolences to the amazing Lesko family.
